Job summary

U.S. Army MWR seeks a lifeguard trainee for the Fort Gordon Aquatics facility. The role begins under close supervision with mandatory lifeguard, first aid, and CPR/AED certifications to be completed within two weeks of reporting. Duties include guarding guests, participating in drills, and completing required training.

Upon certification, the incumbent may be noncompetitively reassigned to Recreation Aid (Lifeguard), PD #3206, continuing duties at the aquatic facility.

Qualifications

• Must be able to swim and participate in lifeguard certifications.
• Must obtain Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED certifications within two weeks of reporting.

Responsibilities

• Train in Lifeguarding and First Aid; obtain required certifications.
• Guard guests at the Fort Gordon Aquatics facility under supervision and follow safety protocols.
• Participate in required emergency drills and trainings; assist in emergency action plan simulations.
• Upon completion of certifications, may be reassigned to Recreation Aid (Lifeguard), PD #3206.
