We are Hiring for an Auto Bodily Injury Casualty Claims Trainee Specialist Class!

Are you currently in a Claims role and feel there is no opportunity to grow your Claims career?

If you answered YES, then look no further! First Chicago Insurance is recruiting a training class of ambitious individuals who currently excel within the auto liability PD claims insurance industry. No prior auto bodily injury/casualty claims handling experience required!

At the end of the training program, you will be expected to and able to successfully investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve bodily injury, uninsured/underinsured motorist bodily injury, and medical payments claims.

The training class will run approximately 4-6 weeks and will include a balanced mix of classroom instruction and on-the-job/side-by-side training.

Role Overview

The Casualty Specialist Trainee will be responsible for investigating and settling automobile bodily injury claims. They will settle complex liability claims requiring extensive investigation and verification, as well as casualty claims involving severe injuries that may result in extended disability or bodily injury, including coverage-related litigation.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review and determine course of action on each file assigned, utilizing technical knowledge and experience for the final disposition of a loss.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and maintain accurate documentation of each claim, including coverage, liability, status, and damages.
  • Process Bodily Injury and coverage claims following established procedures.
  • Collaborate with third parties, plaintiff counsel, Claim Director, and COO to determine necessary investigations.
  • Research case law and statutes to support investigations.
  • Document policy status, coverage, liability, and damages; notify re-insurers on qualifying claims.
  • Prepare and present claim evaluations for settlement approval.
  • Maintain reasonable expense factors.
  • Handle additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
  • At least 2 years of auto liability property damage claim adjusting experience.
  • Non-standard auto claims handling experience is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to pass written examinations required for licensing in some states.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.

Estimated compensation range: $27.88/hr - $31.25/hr. Actual offers depend on experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. Salary may vary based on in-office, hybrid, or remote work arrangements.
