Indiana University Bloomington’s Facility Operations seeks an Automation Control Technician to maintain and repair Siemens and Johnson Controls DDC and pneumatic systems. The role includes diagnostics, programming verification, and supporting other technicians in a fast-paced campus environment.
Requires a degree in electronics/technical field with experience, or a high school diploma with extended experience.

Capital Planning and Facilities (CPF) works to ensure that Indiana University (IU) campuses are beautiful, functional, and sustainable supporting excellence in teaching, learning, research, and community engagement across the entire university. A unit within CPF, Facility Operations maintains our physical campus to support research, teaching, and learning at Indiana University Bloomington. As a unit of Capital Planning and Facilities, Facility Operations provides wide-ranging services all with the goal of creating a beautiful, well-functioning campus.

This role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. This role frequently requires the ability to handle equipment. This role frequently requires the ability to remain stationary and ascend/descend ladders/stairs. This role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The role requires the ability to detect items in close proximity as well as far away; discern between colors; detect objects in peripheral space of self; discern items in detail; and to have good depth perception. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

This position follows a tiered training program, with pay based on the employee's current training level. The current hourly rate for a fully trained Automation Control Technician is $31.57 per hour.
As employees successfully progress through each level of the training program, their hourly pay will increase in accordance with the applicable training level as shown below.
