County of Salem in Salem, NJ, is seeking an Advocate Trainee for the Victim Witness Program. Under close supervision, you will receive on-the-job training in providing advocate services to crime victims, witnesses, and their families.

This full-time trainee position offers a 12-month training period with advancement to the Advocate, Victim-Witness Program, a $21.00 per hour rate, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, pension, holidays, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Requires 30 semester hours per year of relevant experience.
• Four years of professional experience providing advice and referral services OR a bachelor's degree.
• Professional experience is analytical, evaluative, and interpretive and requires informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Learn to provide information, advice, and assistance to crime victims and witnesses through interview processes.
• Learn to review cases with victims and witnesses.
• Assist victims in preparation and delivery of victim impact statements and referrals for services.
