Job summary

Alstom in West Mifflin, PA is seeking a full-time onsite Train Performance Engineer to lead train system development and validation, interfacing with RAM, Train Validation, ISR/LCC engineers.

You will ensure requirements translation, target reliability, cybersecurity, and certification support, delivering test reports and documentation. The role offers collaboration across functions and countries in a dynamic, on-site environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering or related field. Master’s degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Experience or understanding of vehicle systems and integration.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the train system development and validation efforts.
  • Ensuring conversion of customer and regulatory requirements into train-level requirements and specifications.
  • Being accountable for Train Reliability, Train Logistic Support Analysis (LSA), LCC target achievement, Cybersecurity, and Validation and Engineering contributions to Certification & Authorization.
  • Acting as the main technical focal point for the customer regarding train performance topics.
  • Collaborating with the RAM engineer to manage reliability activities and report on reliability risk management.
  • Partnering with the Train Validation Engineer to ensure verification and validation activities are completed and fulfill requirements.
  • Contributing to Certification and Authorization by delivering requested deliverables (such as test reports and train-level documentation).
  • Supporting the Certification & Authorization manager on technical topics.
  • Driving project team success by ensuring alignment with company objectives on Cost, Quality, and Time through globally standardized practices.
  • Working closely with teams across the business, including RAM engineers, Train Validation Engineers, and ISR/LCC engineers.
