R.J. Corman Railroad Company is seeking Train Crew Members to join our team in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in all phases of safe daily train operations.
2. Operate equipment according to company policies, procedures, safety (FRA and OSHA), and DOT requirements.
3. Operate track switches, couple cars, and work on freight trains in yard and on the road.
4. Move and align rail equipment to create or build trains.
5. Review instructions from dispatchers and yardmasters, and coordinate with train crew.
6. Perform multiple tasks safely, including pulling, controlling, and maneuvering equipment.
7. Work with customers to ensure accurate movement and placement of cars.
8. Take on increasing responsibilities, including locomotive engineering duties.
9. Subject to random alcohol and drug testing per FRA guidelines.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be mechanically inclined with basic reading and math skills.
• Ability to develop teamwork and collaborate with all levels of personnel.

Physical Requirements:

• Perform strenuous physical work.
• Constant standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, balancing.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching.
• Lift up to 80 lbs; push/pull up to 150 lbs.

Environmental Conditions:

Primarily outdoor work around locomotives, railcars, and equipment, with exposure to weather elements; PPE required.
