Corman Railroad Company. We are seeking dynamic Train Crew Members in Childersburg, AL. If you are ambitious, physically capable, and dependable, apply now!

Our Train Crew Members play an important part in keeping our locomotives moving. We will teach you the workings of our trains, as well as the rules and regulations that must be followed to complete the job safely.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all phases of the safe daily operation of trains.
  • Operate equipment according to company policies, procedures, and practices, including safety (FRA and OSHA) and DOT requirements.
  • Operate track switches, couple cars, and work on freight trains in yard operations and on the road.
  • Move and align various parts of rail equipment to create or build trains.
  • Perform multiple tasks safely, including pulling, controlling, and maneuvering onto and off of equipment.
  • Increase responsibilities over time, including locomotive engineering duties.
  • Subject to random alcohol and drug testing as per Federal Railroad Administration Guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Driver's License required.
  • Mechanical inclination, basic reading and math skills.
  • Ability to develop teamwork and collaborate with all levels of personnel.
  • Mobility for frequent travel and to perform job functions, including lifting at least 80 lbs and walking long distances over uneven surfaces.
  • Must be on-call 24/7.

Environmental Conditions

  • Primarily outdoor work around moving locomotives, railcars, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Exposure to weather elements; PPE required.
