Job summary

Aspen Skiing Company is seeking a Trails Manager to oversee year-round Summer/Winter trail operations and grooming. You will supervise trail crews, manage budgets, and ensure safety and environmental standards are met across multiple mountains.

Lead efforts in equipment maintenance, capital planning, and cross-department collaboration, with a focus on guest experience and operational excellence in a challenging mountain environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must pass DMV check.
• Knowledge of snow grooming operations.
• Strong leadership and team management.
• Ability to obtain ASC snowmobile license.
• Experience managing budgets and reporting.
• Familiarity with snowcat GPS and data interpretation.
• Strong communication across departments.
• Ability to work in varied mountain conditions.
• Safety and environmental compliance focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, schedule, train, and develop trail crews for summer and winter operations.
• Prepare and manage department budgets, tracking labor and expenses.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and address issues.
• Coordinate equipment repairs with Vehicle Maintenance.
• Oversee trail grooming and maintenance for events and seasonal conditions.
• Manage hiring, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and scheduling.
• Recommend capital purchases and contribute to long-term equipment planning.
• Oversee summer trail maintenance projects and erosion control.
• Utilize Snowcat GPS data to optimize grooming efficiency.
• Maintain compliance with National Forest Service and Storm Water Management Plan.
• Collaborate cross-departmentally to maintain a positive work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
