Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a dock operator responsible for moving trailers safely on and off the dock and maintaining an organized yard. The role requires inspecting arriving trailers and performing pre-shift checks on the yard spotter truck.

Candidates should have a high school education or equivalent, a valid driver license, and at least six months of machinery experience. Flexibility for nights, weekends, travel, and drug/background checks is required.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent; additional experience may substitute.
• Valid Driver License.
• Minimum of six months experience operating machinery.
• Must have demonstrated ability to follow directions.
• Professional attitude & conduct.
• Multi-tasking, interpersonal communication, problem solving, and time management skills.
• High degree of safety awareness and safety discipline.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the public.
• Willing to travel and work away from home when required.
• Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Adhere to safety requirements and policies in the Employee Handbook/Code of Conduct.
• Be willing to work in a team environment and assist others as required.
• Wear PPE in designated operations per PRATT Safety and OSHA.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Flexible to business needs.
• Drug tests and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers on and off the dock safely.
• Keep the storage yard organized.
• Inspect trailers on arrival to the yard.
• Pre-shift inspection on yard spotter truck.
• Follow all safety policies and employee handbook rules.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
