Job summary

Premium Guard, Inc. in Kentucky is seeking a Yard Spotter to safely move trailers within the lot and dock areas.

You will operate yard trucks and spotters to position trailers at loading doors, relocate them to yard locations, and support the smooth flow of inbound and outbound shipments. Candidates should have a valid driver's license, be able to work outdoors in varying weather, and follow safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience operating yard truck, spotter truck, forklift, tractor, or similar equipment is required.
• Valid driver\'s license required; CDL not required.
• Ability to follow directions, work independently, and communicate effectively with team members.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and safe driving practices.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a yard truck, spotter truck, or other designated equipment to move trailers throughout the facility yard.
• Position trailers at assigned loading and unloading dock doors.
• Remove trailers from dock doors and relocate them to designated yard locations.
• Conduct pre-use inspections of yard equipment and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Perform visual inspections of trailers before moving them, including checking trailer doors, landing gear, tires, and overall condition.
• Communicate with shipping, receiving, warehouse, and operations teams to coordinate trailer movements.
• Maintain an organized yard and ensure trailers are parked in designated locations.
• Monitor trailer locations and assist with tracking inbound and outbound equipment.
• Follow all company safety policies, traffic rules, and yard procedures.
• Report accidents, damage, unsafe conditions, or equipment issues immediately.
• Assist with other distribution center duties as needed.
