Job summary

AAA Cooper Transportation, Inc. is seeking a Hostler to move trailers between doors and yard locations, load/unload freight, and prepare shipments at the dock. The role requires backing proficiency and the ability to operate a hostler/yard dog, with adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in backing 28ft, 48ft and 53ft vans.
• Have the ability to operate a hostler/yard dog.
• Have the ability to pass the hostler certification program.
• Respect company policies and follow laws for safe work.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers from door to door and certain location on the yard.
• Load and unload trailers and move freight across the terminal dock, with or without assistance.
• Load freight to and from dock and trailers per Bills of Lading and labels.
• Plan loading to utilize space and minimize damage.
• Hook and unhook trailers from tractors and operate landing gear.
• Inspect equipment for defects and safe operating condition.
• Fuel trucks, tractors, and other company equipment.
• Clean, sweep and wash dock, trailers, yard, tractor and work areas.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
