Job summary

Cox Fleet’s Fleet Services by Cox Automotive offers an entry-level trailer mechanic track through the FleeTec Academy. You will receive four weeks of paid classroom training with travel and lodging provided, followed by hands-on mentoring and a full-time position as a Mobile Trailer Mechanic in your market.

Starting pay begins at $13.08/hour plus a $250/week stipend, with raises to $19/hour after six weeks and $21/hour on graduation, all while maintaining DOT compliance and a valid license.

Qualifications

• Desire to start a career as a Trailer Technician
• Willingness to study hard for four weeks at the Academy
• Dedicate four weeks away from home for training
• Maturity to focus on the task at hand
• Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles
• Ability to operate an iPad
• Willingness to complete DOT-required background checks and DOT physical
• DOT medical card validity considerations and compliance with DOT regulations
• Valid driver’s license and eligibility to obtain Driver Qualification File
• High School Diploma preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repairs and preventative maintenance at customer locations
• Go through paid classroom training and hands-on training before full-time hire
• Progress through the multi-year Academy program to become a Trailer Technician
