Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Lithia Springs, GA is seeking a Trailer Technician II to perform intermediate maintenance and repair on trailers and equipment.

Under routine supervision you will troubleshoot issues and complete fleet maintenance to meet JB Hunt standards. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, diagnosing trailer systems such as fuel, batteries, engines, drive trains, air brakes and OE-based inspections; you will also mentor trainees and participate in OE training while

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old with 2 years of semi-trailer maintenance and repair experience or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT/FHWA inspections and air brakes
• Must supply your own basic tools or use toolbox purchase program
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements and across multiple shifts
• GED, High School education reflected in qualifications

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brake systems and FHWA inspections
• Troubleshoot trailer issues and accurately perform intermediate-level repairs to company and manufacturer's specifications, complete work orders and understand SRT and warranty guidelines
• Assist with onboarding and mentorship of trailer technician trainees
• Participate in Original Equipment Manufacturer training for OE repairs
• Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel
• Maintain communication with customers and JB Hunt staff
