Job summary

CrossCountry Freight Solutions, Inc. is seeking a skilled Trailer Technician to join our team.

This safety-sensitive role performs preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers and equipment, including doors, floors, DOT inspections, wheel end services, and electrical diagnosis, while leveraging training to advance in the position. The role reports to the Fleet Manager and requires diagnosing and repairing tractor-trailer issues, performing maintenance, and documenting repairs in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical training in mechanics/truck repair preferred.
• 1+ year of professional trailer technician experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, logistics, math and communication skills.
• Ability to recognize trailer maintenance problems.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
• Experience with diagnostic computers.
• Experience working on trailers.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced team.
• Welding or fabrication experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Pre-employment skills assessment required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair issues on tractor-trailers.
• Perform preventative maintenance on trailers.
• Test equipment and systems for performance.
• Repair brakes, electrical systems, wheel end services, and wall panels.
• Document repairs.
• Maintain good working relationships with employees and vendors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
