Job summary

Marten Transport, Ltd. in Indiana is seeking a full-time maintenance technician to perform in-house repairs on a large fleet. You will diagnose, repair, and rebuild components, conduct preventive maintenance, and ensure accurate labor and parts charges on each Repair Order.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and flexibility to work varied shifts and climates. A high school diploma with related training or experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School education with one year post high school training preferred or two plus years’ experience in tractor maintenance.
• Experience in preventive maintenance and repair of heavy equipment.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and work in varied climates as needed.

• Maintain proficiency in the diagnosis and repair of all equipment.
• Maintain proficiency in rebuilding components on equipment.
• Effectively perform preventive maintenance inspections.
• Complete all Repair Orders in a timely manner with accurate labor and parts charges.

• Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as needed.
• Return unused parts to the parts room.

To furnish quality major and minor in-house repairs to the fleet in a timely and efficient manner while complying with Marten Transport, Ltd. policy and procedure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

2. Maintain proficiency in rebuilding components on equipment.
3. Effectively and efficiently perform preventive maintenance inspections.
4. Complete all Repair Orders in a timely manner ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate unit.
5. Attend all company-training classes, then retain and demonstrate what was instructed.
6. Responsible for the cleanliness of the work area.
7. Performs additional duties and special projects as needed.
8. Return all unused parts to the parts room.
9. Other duties as assigned.

ABILITIES/SKILLS REQUIRED:

Must possess mechanical skills and aptitude for the position. Must be able to exhibit skills and knowledge

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be able to stand for long hours. Must be able to work various shifts and days. Must be able to work in all types of climates including extreme hot and cold.

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:
