Job summary

Marten Transport is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to perform in-house repairs on the company’s truck fleet in Edwardsville, KS. You will diagnose, repair, and rebuild components, and ensure preventive maintenance is completed on schedule.

Full-time role requiring high school education with some post‑secondary training or equivalent experience; ability to lift 50 pounds and work varied shifts. Marten offers a strong benefits package and hands-on training.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair fleet equipment.

• Assist with special projects as needed.
• Return unused parts to parts room.

Job description

PURPOSE:

To furnish quality major and minor in-house repairs to the fleet in a timely and efficient manner while complying with Marten Transport, Ltd. policy and procedure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain proficiency in the diagnosis and repair of all equipment.
2. Maintain proficiency in rebuilding components on equipment.
3. Effectively and efficiently perform preventive maintenance inspections.
4. Complete all Repair Orders in a timely manner ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate unit.
5. Attend all company-training classes, then retain and demonstrate what was instructed.
6. Responsible for the cleanliness of the work area.
7. Performs additional duties and special projects as needed.
8. Return all unused parts to the parts room.
9. Other duties as assigned.

ABILITIES/SKILLS REQUIRED:

Must possess mechanical skills and aptitude for the position. Must be able to exhibit skills and knowledge

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be able to stand for long hours. Must be able to work various shifts and days. Must be able to work in all types of climates including extreme hot and cold.

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:

High School Education with one year post high school training preferred or two plus years’ experience in tractor maintenance.
