Job summary

Great Western Trailer in Salt Lake City is seeking skilled Trailer Technicians to join our growing team. You will inspect and repair semi-trailers, install add-on components, and perform welding as needed, with a focus on safety and quality.

Weekly pay, weekdays 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, comprehensive benefits, 401K, and paid time off are available to eligible employees. Reliable transportation and own tools are required.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Own a personal set of hand tools (except in California).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with semi-trailer equipment and maintenance.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools safely and efficiently.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair semi-trailers, including brakes, wiring, bodywork, lift gates, and more.
• Install and replace add-on components such as toolboxes, winches, and ramp kits.
• Perform fabrication and welding as needed.
• Complete service reports and ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.

Great Western Trailer (GWT) is actively hiring skilled and motivated Trailer Technicians to join our growing team at our Salt Lake City facility. If you have experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair and are looking for a company that values your skills and dedication.

Trailer Technician Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair semi-trailers, including brakes, wiring, bodywork, lift gates, and more.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid driver's license (a plus, but not required).
• 3+ years of experience in semi-trailer repairs.
• Certified brake and FHWA inspector or ability to obtain certification.
• Industry certifications such as ASE or welding certification.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a valuable asset.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
• Work may be performed in a shop, yard, or mobile service environment.
• Exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, fumes, and varying temperatures.
• Moderate to loud noise levels.
