Job summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is hiring a Trailer Technician to repair and maintain Class 7-8 trailers. The role involves operating vehicles and testing all components to ensure proper operation.

Compensation ranges from $28 to $35 per hour, with weekly pay. Shift is Sunday-Wednesday 12:00 PM - 10:30 PM, offering 4x10 hour weeks and extensive training through Amerit University.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in vehicle and trailer maintenance.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle to assess operation.
• Enter/exit driver compartment using footholds and handholds.
• Provide own hand tools.
• Perform DOT inspections.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle records and report them manually and on a computer.
• Perform safety inspections and document results.
• Inspect and service undercarriage and related components.
• Access all areas of equipment to perform maintenance.
• Move parts to/from job site and install/remove parts.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.

Position Summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Trailer Technician! The Trailer Technician will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of Class 7 - 8 trailers and will operate vehicles and test all working parts in various functions to ensure proper operation.

Compensation: $28 - $35 per hour; depending on experience. Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday!

Shift: Sunday - Wednesday: 12:00 PM - 10:30 PM (4 x 10 Hour Work Week)

What the Trailer Technician role looks like:

• Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
• Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
• Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicle
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
• Perform other duties as required

What our ideal candidate looks like:

• Must have at least 2 years' experience performing vehicle and trailer maintenance.
• Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
• Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds
• Must provide own hand tools
• Perform DOT inspections
• Basic computer skills
• Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
