Amerit Fleet Solutions in Champaign, IL is seeking a Trailer Technician/Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on trailers with a night shift schedule. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, document work orders, and ensure safety and compliance across our fleet.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of hands-on trailer maintenance, strong diagnostics, and the ability to work independently or with a team.

Qualifikationen

• 2+ years hands-on trailer maintenance/repair experience.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL may be required).
• Own and maintain your personal tools and toolbox.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Able to meet the physical demands of the role.
• Pass pre-employment screenings including drug screen and DOT (if required).

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years’ of hands-on experience performing class 7 - 8 trailermaintenance and repairs
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position (detailed below)
• Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required)

Working Conditions

This role involves working in a mobile, outside and/or shop environment with exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical materials such as oils and greases. Technicians must be able to perform essential job functions that include frequent movement such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces. This position requires regular use of hands to grasp, reach, handle, and operate tools and equipment. Technicians may be required to work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms and must be able to safely perform duties in various weather conditions. Due to the active work environment and movement of large vehicles, the ability to see and hear sufficiently to safely navigate the workspace is required.
