Trailer Technician Responsibilities
- Inspect and repair semi‑trailers, including brakes, wiring, bodywork, lift gates, and more.
- Install and replace add‑on components such as toolboxes, winches, and ramp kits.
- Perform fabrication and welding as needed.
- Complete service reports and ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Own a personal set of hand tools (except in California).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with semi‑trailer equipment and maintenance.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools safely and efficiently.
- Willingness to work overtime when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license (a plus, but not required).
- 3+ years of experience in semi‑trailer repairs.
- Certified brake and FHWA inspector or ability to obtain certification.
- Industry certifications such as ASE or welding certification.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a valuable asset.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
- Work may be performed in a shop, yard, or mobile service environment.
- Exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, fumes, and varying temperatures.
- Moderate to loud noise levels.
