Atlas Van Lines in Evansville, IN is seeking a skilled Trailer Service Technician III to join our fleet maintenance team. You will repair, restore, and maintain trailers, box trucks, and related equipment to keep our network safe and reliable.

You’ll perform welding, body work, painting, inspections, and upfitting, collaborating with parts and shop staff to ensure high-quality workmanship and compliance with OSHA and DOT standards.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in vehicle repair or fleet maintenance.
• Experience with trailers, box trucks, welding, painting, and vehicle upfitting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle repair techniques, body repair processes, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to safely operate welding equipment, repair tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery.
• Ability to safely operate a service truck and maintain eligibility to drive per DOT requirements.

Responsabilités

• Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections on trailers, box trucks, and fleet equipment.
• Complete trailer and box truck upfitting projects, including liftgates, truck bodies, storage systems, and related equipment.
• Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting and vinyl installation with proper cleaning, sanding, masking, and finishing techniques.
• Inspect vehicles for damage, wear, and mechanical issues using diagnostic tools to identify repairs.
• Perform body repair, welding, painting, and basic mechanical work per manufacturer specs and standards.
• Collaborate with Parts Department to identify, order, and install parts efficiently and accurately.
• Verify the quality and completeness of repairs before returning vehicles to service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe work area and properly care for tools and assets.
• Assist with additional fleet maintenance, repairs, or finishing projects as assigned.
