Job summary

THERMO KING WEST, INC. is seeking a Trailer Repair Technician at multiple levels (Apprentice, Journeyman or Expert). The role is a full-time, in-person position with typical 40-hour weeks and shifts of 8 or 10 hours.

You will participate in a one-year apprenticeship, learn welding as needed, and repair trailers using power tools in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include PMs, DOT inspections, lighting/electrical system diagnosis, air brake work, suspension replacement and MIG welding.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• If no welding experience, training available to weld steel, aluminum and stainless.
• Ability to operate power tools and repair damaged trailers.
• Willing to perform Air Brake Inspections and Repairs and use related tools.
• Diagnose electrical/lighting issues in trailers.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs, BITs, and DOT inspections on trailers.
• Diagnose and repair lighting and electrical systems; identify shorts and open circuits.
• Perform air brake inspections; overhaul brakes and related components.
• Replace suspension components, landing legs, and align axles; MIG-weld as needed.
• Support advancement from Apprentice to Journeyman or Expert within the business.
