Job summary

Big Tex Trailers is seeking a Painter 1 to prepare surfaces, mix paints, and apply coatings in a production setting. You will work with electrostatic and hand sprayers, ensuring consistent color matching and a high-quality finish on metal trailers.

Ideal candidates have 0–1 year experience in production painting, strong attention to detail, and the physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds while maintaining pace in a busy shop environment.

Qualifications

• 0–1 year of experience in a production painting environment.
• Proficiency with electrostatic air sprayers and hand sprayers.
• Knowledge of paint mixing, application techniques, and color matching.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare paint equipment and supplies.
• Clean and maintain paint booth and work area.
• Prepare materials, products, and metals for painting.
• Follow established processes and procedures for paint production.
• Position products and materials for efficient painting.
• Prepare and monitor paint solutions to ensure consistency and quality.
• Refinish, repaint, and rework painted surfaces to correct defects.
• Apply paint using electrostatic air spraying and hand spraying.
• Ensure accurate and consistent color matching and application.
• Monitor paint application to maintain quality standards.
• Move trailers and parts to and from the paint area as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Other duties, as assigned.
