Job summary

Meijer Inc. is looking for a yard and trailer operations team member in Michigan. The role involves fueling equipment, conducting yard checks, and performing safety inspections to ensure trailer safety and efficiency.

You will rotate inbound trailers, operate power equipment, and follow standard operating procedures. The job requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid CDL and current DOT physical, and the ability to work in a team with strong communication and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to be licensed and operate a stand up Power Industrial Truck is mandatory.
• Ability to pass Class A UST Operators Training.
• Experience in a transportation/warehouse setting is highly preferred.
• CDL and current DOT physical required.
• Familiarity with or experience working in a warehouse setting required.

Responsibilities

• Fuels equipment per requirements.
• Performs yard checks to verify trailer inventory.
• Performs routine safety checks to secure trailer and follows all related safety requirements.
• Conducts temp checks on trailers containing product.
• Provides trailers as needed/requested for loading and unloading, ensuring inbound trailers are rotated first in/first out.
• Verifies that all equipment is functioning properly and completes DVIR for power units.
• Learns SOP for all functions performed.
• Maintains a safe and clean yard for optimizing equipment utilization.
• May assist workers in loading/unloading trailers as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
