Job summary

Transervice Logistics in Linden, NJ is hiring a Trailer Mechanic/Technician to diagnose and repair trailer equipment, inspect for DOT compliance, and perform preventive maintenance. Must have air brakes experience and own tools.

Work Mon-Fri, 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with overtime and weekends off; company offers 100% paid health care, retirement, PTO, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have certification from a diesel mechanic trade school or a minimum of 3 years of related experience as a trailer mechanic.
• Must have experience with air brakes.
• Read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proficiency in the diagnosis and repair of all assigned trailer equipment.
• Determine trailer condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests.
• Perform system repairs including air and hydraulic systems, tires, suspension, and electrical.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and state/federal safety inspections per DOT requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance on trailers.

Heated Shop, Well LIghted

• You will maintain proficiency in the diagnosis and repair of all assigned trailer equipment
• Determine trailer condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests
• Must have experience with air brakes
• Perform system repairs to include air and hydraulic systems, tires, suspension, electrical.
• Perform all preventive maintenance inspections, state and federal mandated safety inspections and complete repairs in accordance with DOT requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance on trailers
• Monday thru Friday
• Weekends OFF!!!
• 11:00 AMto 7:30 PM)
• PLUS OVERTIME!!!

Trailer Mechanic Requirements:

• Certification from a diesel mechanic trade school or a minimum of 3 years of related experience as a trailer mechanic
• Must have experience with air brakes
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Basic math skills
• Strong diagnostic skills
• Knowledge of hydraulics
• Own set of tools
• The ability to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 75 pounds
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Computer proficiency with MS Office and TMT
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen
