Davis Cartage Co. in Corunna, Michigan is seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic for the full-time second shift. As part of our maintenance team you will inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair dry van trailers to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of trailer repair, fleet maintenance, or related mechanical experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with commercial trailers, dry vans, or transportation equipment preferred.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Strong attention to safety and quality workmanship.
• Knowledge of DOT inspection and maintenance requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting trailers for mechanical, electrical, structural, and safety issues.
• Diagnosing and repairing trailer systems and components.
• Repairing electrical wiring, lighting, and brake systems.
• Servicing pneumatic and air brake systems.
• Performing preventative maintenance inspections.
• Conducting scheduled maintenance and repairs.
• Repairing trailer doors, floors, roofs, walls, and structural components.
• Maintaining DOT compliance standards.
• Completing repair documentation accurately.
• Working independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Following company safety procedures and maintenance standards.
