Job summary

Swift Straw in McDonough, GA is seeking a Mechanic to repair and maintain the company’s fleet of semi-trailers at the McDonough facility. You will partner with the Fleet Maintenance Coordinator and Lead Trailer Mechanic to keep trailers safe, compliant, and available for loading and distribution.

Responsibilities include repairs, inspections, documenting defects in Salesforce, salvaging usable parts, and occasional travel to other sites.

Qualifications

• 1 year min of hands-on mechanical work on CMVs or similar vehicles.
• Intermediate or advanced welding skills.
• Knowledge of repair/maintenance for dry van semi-trailers and regulatory rules.
• Experience using fleet/budget software (Salesforce/Concur/Excel/Teams).
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Hands-on problem solving approach.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; CDL a plus.
• Ability to lift 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of company semi-trailers and perform inspections as directed.
• Document mechanical defects in Salesforce and coordinate with lead staff.
• Salvage usable parts from decommissioned trailers for reuse or scrap.
• Safely move trailers and manage yard organization; travel to other sites when needed.
