Job summary

Prime Inc. is seeking a skilled mechanic for an overnight shift (Wednesday–Saturday, 6pm–6am) at our Pittston, PA area shop. This role offers top pay, overtime, and comprehensive benefits, with training available for limited experience and support to acquire the tools of the trade.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain tractors and trailers, read job orders, and ensure safety and quality across mechanical systems while advancing within Prime Inc.'s large organization.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical background and ability to diagnose vehicle malfunctions.
• Willingness to train if limited experience.
• Must own basic hand tools by end of training (60–90 days).

Responsibilities

• Read job orders and listen to trailers in operation to diagnose issues.
• Raise vehicle for access with jack/hoist.
• Dismantle machines to inspect parts for defects.
• Repair or replace defective parts as needed.
• Adjust brakes, front end alignment, shocks, and related systems.
• Fabricate lifting or towing attachments as required.
• Maintain and lubricate tools and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
• Follow DOT/state repair requirements.
