Job summary

Utility Trailer of Texas, Inc. is seeking a skilled trailer technician to diagnose and repair ABS systems, roll doors, body work and air brake systems. You will perform welding and metal work, use service manuals, and follow safety policies in a busy shop environment.

This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, operate a forklift, and work varying shifts. Competitive compensation and benefits are provided, including dental, vision, and medical coverage.

Qualifications

• Welding and metal work knowledge.
• Forklift operation experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair trailer and dolly systems per job orders.
• Follow minimum periodic inspection standards per company policies.
• Perform repairs efficiently to meet customer expectations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed.
• Use welding skills to complete trailer repairs.
• Perform welding and cutting as required.
• Work in a safe manner and follow safety policies.
• Operate a forklift as needed.
• Work shifts as assigned by supervisor.
• Perform duties as directed by management.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to diagnose and repair various systems associated with trailer and dolly repair to include but not limited to: ABS diagnostics, roll doors, body repair, accident repair, air brake system inspection and repair, electrical system diagnosis and repair.
• Understand and follow the minimum periodic inspection standards per company policies
• Perform repairs in an efficient and timely manner to meet customer expectations.
• Maintain complete, timely, and accurate records on all maintenance performed.
• Ability to use welding skills and knowledge of metals to complete trailer repairs.
• Perform welding and cutting.
• Perform all work in a safe manner.
• Follow good housekeeping standards.
• Operate a forklift.
• Work shifts specified by Service Manager or Shop Foreman.
• Perform Duties as assigned by management.
• Must follow all company safety policies and procedures and immediately report all accidents to a manager or supervisor.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to understand oral and written communication
• Utilize service manuals, technical bulletins, and various directives.
• Must be able to work any shift.
• Own necessary basic tools.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• May also engage in standing, lifting, twisting, turning, climbing a ladder, etc.
• Due to the open environment of the shop, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold.
• Must be able to tolerate wearing personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to a hard hat, steel-toed safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, safety glasses and goggles.
