Job summary

The City of Pocatello seeks a Natural Resources & Trails Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, management, and enhancement of open spaces, trails and urban forestry. The role combines field leadership with administrative duties to ensure sustainable, safe, and accessible outdoor spaces.

Expect about 70% fieldwork supervising crews and inspecting sites, and 30% planning, budgeting, reporting, and coordinating projects with diverse partners.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or higher in Parks and Recreation Management, Urban Forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related field preferred or 4 years related experience.
• CDL Class B license required or to be obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and restoration of open spaces, turf, habitats, and landscaped areas.
• Oversee asphalt trails, bridges, and related infrastructure maintenance and inspections.
• Lead urban forestry activities including planting, pruning, health assessments, and pest management.
• Develop and manage budgets, track expenditures, and coordinate with Parks Division and external partners.
