City of Auburn (AL) is seeking a Traffic Systems Technician Assistant to support the installation, repair, operation, and maintenance of traffic control systems. The role reports to the Traffic Systems Technician in the Engineering Services department.

This position is responsible for assisting the Traffic Systems Technician in the installation, repair, operation, and maintenance of traffic control systems. This position reports to the Traffic Systems Technician.

High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The work is very heavy work, which requires exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, or walking. The employee uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity and distinguishes between shades of color.
The work is typically performed in various indoor and outdoor environments, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee may be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, and machinery with moving parts. Work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.
