Job summary

Stanley Consultants is seeking a Traffic Studies/Planning Engineer for our DeBary, FL office. You will lead traffic studies, support project pursuits, and build relationships with local clients while collaborating with the Traffic Department and ITS groups.

A BS in Civil Engineering and 5+ years of experience, plus a Florida PE license or ability to obtain soon, are preferred. The role emphasizes client outreach, project scopes, and standards development in a collaborative, employee-owned firm

• Knowledge of MUTCD and FDOT TEM.

Responsibilities

• Quality assurance and support for project teams and business development.

• Support client outreach and maintain key client relationships.
• Lead traffic studies and draft scopes/fees for new projects.
• Serve as traffic studies lead on department projects.
• Recommend operating policies and procedures.
• Support traffic management leaders for operational needs.

About the Role

Stanley Consultants is currently looking for a Traffic Studies/Planning Engineer for our DeBary, FL office.

Responsibilities

• Project quality assurance and project team support; support of technical organization; and support of business development
• Participate in traffic studies related to strategic and growth initiatives.
• Assist with major project pursuits, new business development, and local client relationships
• Support CSMs, with client outreach where appropriate
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients
• Lead Traffic Studies
• Draft and review scopes and fees for new projects
• Serve as traffic studies lead on key department projects
• Recommend operating policies, standards, and procedures
• Support the Traffic Department Manager(s) and the Traffic and ITS Group Manager for various operational needs
• Perform other functions delegated by the Traffic and ITS Engineering Group Manager and/or Transportation Market Leader

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience
• Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license or be able to obtain in a few months
• Traffic Engineering experience, and/or planning, analysis and studies experience
• Great written and oral communication skills
• Safety Planning experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and procedures, including:
• FHWA Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)
• FDOT Traffic Engineering Manual (TEM)
