Job summary

Harris County is seeking a Traffic Signal Technician to perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of traffic control devices. You will oversee contract workers and respond to public concerns while ensuring work meets standards.

Qualifications include a BS in an electrical field or AS/AAS, plus strong reading of plans, safety awareness, and communication skills. The role is full-time with variable hours and field work as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical and electronic device maintenance as part of traffic control systems.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and work orders.
• Familiarity with TMUTCD or related standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of traffic control devices.
• Oversee contract workers performing installation and maintenance tasks.
• Investigate public complaints and implement problem resolutions.
• Inspect work performed by contractors for quality and safety.
• Maintain cooperative working relationships with stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
