Job summary

Accelera is seeking a Traffic Signal Crew Lead to spearhead installation and maintenance of overhead traffic control systems in Austin, TX. You will manage field crews, interpret complex plans, and ensure public safety and infrastructure reliability through rigorous safety practices and efficient project delivery.

You will read civil engineering and signal layouts, supervise aerial operations, and ensure wiring, grounding, and commissioning meet standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in traffic signal construction with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
• Expertise in aerial equipment operation, rigging, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Strong working knowledge of MUTCD, OSHA, and regional transportation agency standards.
• Proven ability to read and execute complex civil engineering and signal layout plans.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record suitable for company vehicle operation.

Responsibilities

• Direct field operations for installation of mast arms, signal heads, and controller cabinets to ensure project specifications are met.
• Interpret complex engineering plans and agency standards to guide precise intersection layouts and equipment rigging.
• Manage aerial work safety, including bucket truck operations and fall protection, to maintain a zero-incident job site.
• Oversee the technical aspects of signal wiring, grounding, and system commissioning to ensure optimal performance.
• Drive project efficiency by tracking labor, material usage, and production data through digital management software.
• Facilitate daily safety briefings and hazard assessments to foster a culture of proactive risk mitigation.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders and inspectors to resolve field challenges and ensure timely project delivery.
• Verify final installations against MUTCD standards and manage the documentation of as-built plans.
