Job summary

Traffic Safety Services (TSS) seeks dependable Traffic Control, Permanent Installation & Pavement Marking Technicians for seasonal, travel-based work to support roadway construction and maintenance projects.

Responsibilities include operating vehicles, installing traffic control devices, pavement markings, and permanent signs; loading, transporting, and maintaining equipment; and ensuring safety and compliance with DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
• Experience operating forklift and skid steer is preferred.
• Ability to read traffic control plans, pavement marking plans, maps, and project specs.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles while traveling to and from job sites.
• Deliver, install, maintain, remove, and transport traffic control devices for roadway construction projects.
• Assist with layout, installation, and application of pavement markings.
• Install and maintain permanent traffic signs and related roadway safety devices.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload trucks, trailers, equipment, and materials independently.
• Operate forklifts, skid steers, small grinders, and other equipment used in roadway operations.
• Change grinding heads and perform routine equipment adjustments.
• Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment as needed.
• Wash, clean, inspect fuel, and stock vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
• Organize and maintain shop, yard, and inventory areas.
• Safely lift, carry, and position traffic control devices, signs, and other construction materials.
• Assist other departments to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Follow all company policies, DOT regulations, and established safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
