Job summary

DoorDash is seeking experienced engineers to join the Traffic team and help build the next generation of our Traffic platform. You will work on core components of our traffic stack, including the Envoy Data Plane and xDS control planes, across regions with a focus on reliability and low latency.

You will report to the Engineering Manager of the Traffic Team within the Infrastructure organization. This role is hybrid, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle or New York, offering

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer in infrastructure, networking, or platform engineering.
• Proficiency in Go, C++, Python or Rust.
• Experience with AWS and Kubernetes.
• Background on high-QPS or latency-sensitive systems.
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments and drive progress.
• Proficiency with AI coding tools in the full SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Design and build large-scale distributed systems with high RPS and low latency.
• Troubleshoot production issues and maintain SLAs.
• Collaborate with platform and product engineers on features.
• Improve team productivity with automation and AI tools.
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead investigations.
