City of McAllen, TX seeks a Deputy Director of Traffic Operations to direct daily functions of the Traffic Operations division and manage services provided by department personnel. The role ensures the implementation of traffic control devices in accordance with TMUTCD and coordinates street lighting with local utility companies.
The Deputy Director will lead operations, safety initiatives, and city-wide traffic improvement projects while aligning with the organization’s mission and values.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Under administrative direction of the Traffic Operations Director, the Traffic Operations Deputy Director is responsible for the daily activities and functions of the Traffic Operations division and all services and products performed by department personnel. The Deputy Director is responsible for the implementation of all traffic control devices within City Right-of-Way for traffic safety to include: design, installation and maintenance of traffic control devices as required in the latest version of the Texas Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices (TMUTCD,) and coordination of street lighting with various local electric utility companies.
