The Opportunity
WSDOT is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 2 to join the Olympic Region’s Traffic Office. The top candidate will be responsible for operational reviews primarily in Maintenance Areas 1 & 3; however, they may work on reviews and/or projects in other areas. They are responsible for analyzing and improving traffic operations in the region, working on projects that directly impact road safety and efficiency. This role involves troubleshooting issues raised by citizens, analyzing traffic patterns, and implementing strategies to reduce crash rates while ensuring compliance with national and departmental standards.

What to Expect
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the Traffic Operations Review Engineer will:
Field work includes onsite review and inspection of existing conditions, as well as those provided in the course of construction. This work is performed outdoors with exposure to inclement weather; requires traversing rough, steep, and uneven terrain.
