Mint City Traffic Control is hiring in Bremen, IN to join our safety-focused team. We provide free ATSSA training and certification to all new flaggers, and no prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• Education & Certification: GED preferred; ATSSA/state flagger certification required or can obtain.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
• Experience in traffic control or road work preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret safety signs, signals, and work zone plans.
• Maintain safe work zones and control traffic flow as required.
• Communicate clearly with coworkers, the public, and emergency personnel.
• Operate two-way radios or similar devices.
• Follow OSHA, ATSSA, and company safety standards; monitor hazards.

Requirements

• Education & Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Valid ATSSA or state-approved Flagger Certification required or ability to obtain.
  • Current OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites.
• Experience
  • Previous experience in traffic control, construction, or roadway maintenance preferred but not required.
  • Ability to understand and apply OSHA, ATSSA, and company safety standards.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of traffic control procedures and safe work zone setup.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety signs, signals, and work zone plans.
  • Effective verbal communication skills to interact with coworkers, the public, and emergency personnel.
  • Ability to use two-way radios or other communication devices effectively.
  • Situational awareness to monitor vehicle and pedestrian flow and identify potential safety hazards.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and take direction from supervisors.
• Physical Requirements- with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Must be able to stand for long periods with of time and perform repetitive motions.

• • Ability to lift, carry, and position traffic control devices (signs, cones, barricades, etc.) weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
