Job summary

AECOM Transportation is seeking Traffic Engineers and Designers for roles across the southern US. Join a team delivering modern highway projects, with responsibilities spanning traffic signal design, signing, and pavement marking design, on large transportation initiatives.

Ideal candidates have engineering degrees and relevant experience; EIT or PE credentials are preferred. Relocation assistance may be available in a hybrid office setting.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Engineering or demonstrated equivalency of education/experience.
• BS in Engineering + 2 years related experience for Junior level.
• BS in Engineering + 6 years related experience for Mid level.
• BS in Engineering + 10 years related experience for Senior level.

Responsibilities

• Work on traffic engineering projects, including signing, pavement markings and traffic signals.
• Design traffic CAD drawings and layouts.
• Collaborate on large Design/Build or Alternative Delivery highway projects.

Summary

We are enthusiastically searching for all levels of Traffic Engineers and Designers to join our growing team throughout the southern US. Selected candidates can expect to work on alternative delivery projects, including mega-projects.

Key roles include:

• Junior level, mid-level and senior level Traffic Engineers (including signing & pavement markings and traffic signals)
• Traffic CAD Designers (including signing & marking design and traffic signal design)

Desired skillsets include:

• Experience in large Design/Build or Alternative Delivery projects, specifically highway transportation projects
• Experience with Bentley Microstation and Open Roads
• Experience with traffic signal design
• Experience in signing / pavement marking design. Experience in Interstate design, and complex interchanges preferred.

Qualifications

CAD Designers:

• BS Degree or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience

Junior Level Engineers:

• BS in Engineering + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience

Mid-Level Engineers:

• BS in Engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience

Senior Level Engineers / Task Leads:

• BS in Engineering + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• EIT Certification or PE License
• State DOT experience
• Knowledge and prior use of the AASHTO Green Book and Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
