Job summary

The City of Arvada is hiring a Traffic Engineer II, III, or IV to design and manage traffic and transportation projects, review plans, administer contracts, and coordinate with departments, developers, and the public. This role supports safe, efficient transportation and aligns with city standards.

Experience in traffic or transportation engineering, EIT/PE credentials, and knowledge of MUTCD and AASHTO guidelines are preferred.

Qualifications

• Colorado EIT certification required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepares routine to moderately complex RFPs, traffic and transportation studies, and design plans.
• Develops bid packages and construction contracts for transportation projects.
• Manages capital improvement projects with intersection upgrades and traffic signal improvements.
• Reviews traffic impact analyses and coordinates with stakeholders.
• Assists with development of project budgets and oversees expenditures.
