Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • EIT Certification is mandatory for this role.
  • Previous experience in transportation design preferred.

We are currently searching for an experienced Traffic Engineer In Training to support our Southwest Region located in Texas.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Contribute to the preparation or modification of reports, plans, and designs for projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates.
  • Participate in the collection and analysis of data and the preparation of satisfactory designs.
  • Perform design calculations and conduct investigative analyses toward completion of assigned design tasks, and direct the preparation of design specifications.
  • Perform quantity estimates, detailing, check calculations, and drawings.
  • Organize scheduling of specific tasks and assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Previous/co-op experience in transportation and municipal design.
  • EIT Certification is Required.
  • Experience with OpenRoads Designer.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
