raSmith, a multi-disciplinary civil and structural engineering firm, invites a Traffic Engineer – Hybrid to join our Transportation Services team in Madison, WI. You will perform traffic analysis, modeling, safety studies, signal design, roundabout analysis, and multimodal evaluations for national projects.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, strong communication, and experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D, Synchro, HCS, and Sidra.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from a U.S. accredited college/university with transportation coursework.
• Strong communication skills and ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
• Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities in transportation projects.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D, Synchro, HCS, and Sidra is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic analysis and modeling for projects.
• Perform safety studies and traffic signal design tasks.
• Analyze roundabouts, parking, and multimodal transportation.
• Support transportation planning and pedestrian/bicycle evaluations.
• Prepare conceptual improvement designs and traffic control plans.
• Provide traffic information for public and private clients; document work.

Traffic Engineer – Hybrid - Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. accredited college or university with coursework in transportation and preferably traffic
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Sound decision-making skills
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D, Synchro, HCS, and Sidra is desired.
