Job summary

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) in Tampa, FL is seeking a Traffic Engineer to perform modeling, capacity analysis, and develop designs for efficient transportation systems across the U.S. The role emphasizes collaboration with engineers, technicians, and staff in a hybrid work environment.

Candidates should have a ABET-accredited engineering degree, 5–9 years of traffic engineering experience, PE license, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
5–9 years of experience in traffic engineering, ITS, and transportation planning.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required; PTOE/RSP preferred.
Experience in FL, LA, SC, NC, GA is desirable.
Strong communication and organizational skills; able to coordinate with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

Perform traffic modeling and capacity analysis using industry software for corridor, interchange, and intersection studies.
Assist in traffic impact analyses and signal timing analyses with clear reporting.
Assist in developing traffic control plans and signing/striping layouts.
Prepare design documents (plans, specs, estimates) for traffic signal installations.
Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and administrative staff; support project delivery.

Traffic Engineer

Responsibilities:

Traffic Modeling and Capacity Analysis using one or more of HCS, SYNCHRO, VISSIM, SIDRA, TRANSCAD and TRANSMODELER software for corridor analysis, interchange, and intersection level of service and operational delays.
Assist in conducting Traffic Impact Analysis, Traffic Signal Warrant Analysis and similar traffic studies and prepare reports.
Assist in preparing designs and development of traffic control plans, signing/pavement markings, and traffic signal plans.
Prepare/Review traffic engineering studies and designs efficiently and cost-effectively to obtain client acceptance.
Assist in preparations of final design documents (Plans, Specifications, and Estimates) associated with traffic signal installations, signing and striping layout, and temporary traffic control/detour/staging plans.
Coordinate work with engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience with design software such asAutoCAD, AutoTURN, MicroStation, and/or GuideSIGN is desired.
Knowledgeable in job cost, scheduling, safety, and construction concepts.
Must possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and organizational skills.
Must be able to collaborate with other employees, interact with clients and contractors.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Must complete a pre-employment screening; ICE is a drug-free workplace.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, ABET accredited program (technical experience may be substituted for the degree).
5-9 years of thorough knowledge of current principles and practices of engineering as related to traffic engineering, ITS, and transportation planningfor federal, state, and municipal levels. Experience in FL, LA, SC, NC, & GA is desirable.
Professional Engineer (PE) required.
Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) and/or Road Safety Professional (RSP) certification is preferred.
