Job summary

STV is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join the Hartford, CT team. The role focuses on traffic engineering studies, signal design for CTDOT and municipalities, and coordination with state and local agencies.

Qualifications

• BSCE degree or equivalent.
• PE license required; PTOE preferred.
• Experience with CTDOT/CT Municipalities; NYCDOT/MASSDOT experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, AutoTurn.
• Familiarity with HCS, VISSIM, Synchro, SimTraffic.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Requirements

• BSCE degree or equivalent with a minimum of 10-15 plus years of experience.
• PE required and PTOE preferred.
• Prior work with traffic signal design for CTDOT, CT Municipalities preferred; experience with NYCDOT, NYSDOT, MASSDOT or other agencies considered.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and AutoTurn is desirable.
• Thorough understanding of HCS, VISSIM, Synchro, Sim Traffic software is desired.
• Experience related to traffic safety (vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle), roadside/intersection safety, accessibility, crash data analysis and development of crash countermeasures.
• Successful experience meeting scope, schedules, and budgets on transportation projects/studies.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Compensation Range

$146,678.11 - $167,632.13
