Job summary

The City of Green Bay is seeking a Traffic Manager to lead the Traffic Division, overseeing signal timing, street lighting, traffic calming, and mobility planning. You will supervise staff, manage budgets and grants, and liaison with state and federal agencies to improve traffic safety and efficiency in Green Bay.

Hours are Monday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. with some evenings. Comprehensive benefits are provided, and there is no residency requirement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of six years of experience in traffic engineering, traffic planning or management with two years in a supervisory capacity, preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Traffic Division staff and provides direction to engineering/technician staff and other operational personnel.
• Develops and oversees the implementation of all traffic control for maintenance and construction projects.
• Directs and oversees the design, installation and maintenance of all traffic controls.
• Performs traffic engineering analyses and prepares reports and recommendations.
• Maintains traffic ordinances as secretary of the Traffic, Bicycle and Pedestrian Commission.
• Plans annual traffic programs including pavement marking and large traffic signing activities.
