Job summary

STV Incorporated in Houston, TX, is seeking a Traffic Engineering Specialist to advance as a project engineer within our Traffic Practice. You will deliver traffic signal design, timing analyses, ITS, ADA/pathway design, and reporting while mentoring junior staff and collaborating across multiple teams.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, FE/EIT progress, and experience with CAD and traffic software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; FE exam completed or in progress.
• Experience in traffic engineering, including signal design and timing.
• Proficiency with CAD tools AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation OpenRoads.
• Experience with traffic software such as HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, CORSIM, SIDRA.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• TxDOT and Texas project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver traffic engineering and design services for projects.
• Prepare PS&E packages for state and local agencies as part of a team.
• Develop and review traffic studies, signal timing plans, safety analyses.
• Prepare written reports and presentations communicating results.
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate across project teams.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and best practices.
