Job summary

DRMP is seeking a motivated Traffic Design Engineer to join our Transportation team in Raleigh, NC. You will contribute to traffic operations, safety, and roadway design support on projects across North Carolina and beyond.

You will lead traffic engineering tasks, prepare signal design plans, and collaborate with roadway designers, planners, and senior engineers to produce high-quality documentation in accordance with MUTCD and NCDOT standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• 2-6+ years of traffic engineering experience.
• Experience with NCDOT traffic signal design plans.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic engineering and design for roadway/intersection projects.
• Prepare signal plans and signing/pavement marking plans per MUTCD.
• Prepare technical memos and reports for DOT/municipal clients.
• Coordinate with roadway, drainage, and planning teams.
• Apply DOT and local standards to traffic design tasks.
• Assist senior engineers with data collection and field observations.
• Participate in client meetings and agency coordination.
