STV, Inc. is hiring a Traffic Design Engineer in Owings Mills, Maryland. You will contribute to the design of traffic signals, signing, roadway lighting, and MTM plans while collaborating with engineers from multiple disciplines.

The role emphasizes design accuracy, adherence to MUTCD, SHA, and AASHTO standards, and readiness to support projects across the South Region with room to grow professionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• Minimum of 2 years of traffic engineering or transportation design experience.
• Experience developing traffic control device designs.
• EIT certification preferred with the ability to obtain Maryland PE licensure.

Responsabilités

• Develop traffic signal designs, including phasing, timing, detection, communications, and cabinet/controller plans.
• Prepare ITS designs for CCTV, dynamic message signs, fiber and communication layouts, detection systems, and related field devices.
• Design signing and pavement markings based on MUTCD guidelines utilizing GuideSign software.
• Develop Maintenance of Traffic designs based on SHA and MUTCD standards for various geometric improvement projects.
• Utilize VISUAL or Agi32 photometric design software to prepare lighting design plans for roadway or pedestrian projects.
• Partner with multidisciplinary design teams to deliver coordinated, accurate work on schedule and within budget.
• Conduct field reviews, document existing conditions, and verify design assumptions.
• Assist project managers and senior engineers with specifications, quantities, cost estimates, reports, and final bid packages.
• Apply SHA, MUTCD, AASHTO, and local municipal standards across deliverables.
• Perform task-level QA/QC and support reviews led by senior staff.
