Job description

Arora and Associates, PC is seeking qualified applicants for the following position in our Lawrenceville, NJ office:

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare traffic impact studies, feasibility assessments, intersection analyses, access and circulation plans and studies.
  • Design traffic elements and prepare plans for roadway improvements, traffic signals, pavement markings, signing, and temporary traffic control during construction.
  • Prepare design sketches, drawings, and renderings using CADD.
  • Prepare specifications and estimates.
  • Cooperate and coordinate with other design team members.
  • Supervise and check work of less experienced engineers.
  • Visit project sites to investigate conditions.
  • Review contractor submittals such as working drawings and RFIs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering, including:
    • Experience with standards of NY/NJ transportation agencies such as the PANYNJ.
    • Experience with traffic engineering software such as GuideSign, HCS, AutoTurn, SYNCHRO, VISSIM, and SimTraffic.
    • Experience designing traffic elements including MPT, safety countermeasures, and regulatory and guide signs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
